Posted 9/15/15, and pictures updated 5/4/16. While working on a rescue project, Truffles and her sister Capri were found at a dumpster at Lake Palestine on 9/3/15 in route to our rescue location. Both came running up, are somewhat good on a leash, but need more practice, are very sweet, and love to be pet. They are crate trained, love to play with the other dogs, and they are social with people, so they did have an owner. We had them at an adoption event in September 2015, and they let a lot of children pet them. We were thinking possible Beagle mix for the breed at first until the Cocker Spaniel mix was suggested. There was also the suggestion of Rottweiler in looking at Capri. Both girls h…

She is dog selective, and unpredictable around both male and female dogs, but I have her in a dog pen with a male and a female that she gets along with, so I'm not sure what triggers her with certain dogs. She loves people, has a lot of energy, still jumps on me for attention, and is crate trained. She is very strong, and pulls on a leash, so would do better with a harness. Due to her energy level, she would not be good around smaller children. She would do best as the only dog, or with another dog she is compatible with, a…

Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/6/23. Adilynn was at the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter almost 30 days, so we tagged her, and picked her up on 9/28/23. She has an underbite, is a sweet young dog that is gentle, but playful. We don't know if she is house or crate trained, she does well on a leash, and is good with other dogs. We have not seen any signs of her trying to dig or climb over the fencing. We don't know how she is with cats. She was estimated to be 1 year 6 months old on 8/30/23. She was spayed on 10/18/23, and his heartworm negative. She was 48 pounds on 9/28/23, and on 7/5/25 she weighed a chunky 73 pounds since she was spayed. She could lose some weight in …

Posted 6/29/18, and pictures updated 5/10/20 - Callan was surrendered on 4/11/18. An older woman contacted the Smith County, TX Shelter about her young dog. The officer who talked to her, called me to see if I could help, since the shelter cannot take owner surrenders. I had recently had some adoptions, so I told him that he caught me at a good time. He brought the young dog to me later that day, and I didn't get the dog's name from the home, so I named him Callan. I took Callan to the Gresham Veterinary Hospital on 4/13/18 to get vaccinated, he was listed as a Doberman mix, 1.5 years old, weighed 44.6 pounds, and was neutered by Dehart Veterinary Services on 4/14/18. As of 5/10/20, he weigh…

Joy was spayed on 12/8/24, estimated to have been born around July 2024. She was vaccinated, and was given dewormer medicine, and flea prevention. She has been kept inside the home. The older woman has a few other cats inside with her, so she needs to find a home for Joy. Declawing of any kittens or cats, is cruel, can traumatize the pet, and make the pet defenseless if the pet should get outside. We encourage people to search for kittens and cats that are already declawed that need to find a new home. $65 adoption fee.
